Global Leading Streaming Service Expands Deal with Looper Insights After Digital Storefront Success

Our customer is one of the largest players in the VoD (Video on Demand) industry, an organization boasting over 150 million subscribers worldwide. Their streaming service is available in more than 200 countries, hosting thousands of on-demand movies and shows, including original titles.

CHALLENGE

Being one of the largest streaming apps globally, our customer struggled with managing their presence across various digital storefronts and devices in their primary territories. They were responsible for curating thousands of hours of content.

 

They sought insights into the merchandising of their app and original content on prominent platforms, particularly in the USA and UK markets. They lacked information regarding potential promotional opportunities and were unable to monitor competitors’ activities within the same space. Gaining this knowledge was essential for optimizing their content placements and subsequently boosting revenue.

SOLUTION

Looper Insights offered the customer the Vizibility™ solution, comprising two tools: one focused on ‘Merchandising’ to optimize App & Title Placement Value, and another named ‘Compliance’ for monitoring product availability, pricing, and artwork.

Through the Merchandising tool, Looper Insights provided comprehensive data on the promotion of their App and content across key platforms, offering insights into their competitors’ strategies as a vital tool to outperform them. Armed with actionable insights from digital storefronts and Share of Voice data, our client could secure significantly improved placements for their content which was promoting their App, resulting in greatly enhanced campaign performance.


Collaborating closely with our client, we developed a tailored metric known as Media Placement Value™ (MPV). This weighted Share of Voice metric gauges the proximity of content or apps to users, predicting the likelihood of conversion to their service or content. The introduction of MPV vastly improved campaign planning and ROI.

RESULT

The Looper Insights platform empowered the client to discover numerous promotional opportunities and gain insights into content placements that would have otherwise remained unnoticed. This capability enabled them to optimize their storefront positioning, leading to a substantial increase in revenues. 

Within the initial 6-month collaboration period, the client experienced a significant 15% improvement in their placement value. Just 8 weeks after implementing the Looper Insights platform this client requested a twelvefold expansion in coverage, beginning with their top six territories and Looper Insights are now tracking their App in 15 territories.
