Looper Insights is in the e-commerce space with an initial focus on the Film/TV video on demand industry. We are on a mission to gather data on Every Title, Every Store, Every Day. There are 1000’s of stores globally and some of these have 100,000 titles, so it’s a big job to gather all this data, present it so it’s useful for our clients and enable Looper to beat our competitors.

This is an opportunity to work on a truly unique and interesting project with remote devices around the world. This is not your typical web developer role!
Maintain and optimise our existing software to reliably control, scrape and analyse a large number of different set top box interfaces.
Work alongside senior developers to design and build extraordinary solutions using OCR and image hashing.
Help us to rapidly expand our network by adapting and extending our software to bring new devices online.
Play a part in an agile team – participate in stand-ups, sprint planning & retrospectives.
Gain exposure to other popular programming languages and frameworks including Ruby on Rails and Elixir.
Python experience, ideally more than 12 months in a commercial role. You need to be confident in your ability to support and build upon our current systems from day one.
An interest in additional languages, paradigms and skills. Our scrapers are built in Python and process data into our core Ruby on Rails systems. Having an interest in how other parts of the system integrate.
Highly numerate and literate in English. We’re a remote team and communication is extremely important.
You will have a passion for learning and adapting to new challenges on a daily basis.
Proactive and organised. Startup life means constant change and we need people who can learn and get on with things.
Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Elixir.
Experience working with and managing a network of IoT devices.
Understanding of image hashing algorithms and how to use them to efficiently generate image matches within a large dataset.
