Max takes 1st place for total
Media Placement Value™
We looked at 12 devices* in the US to see who was winning the Top Promotional real estate.
This month, Max once again takes 1st place for total MPV™. Peacock overtakes Netflix to snap up 4th place, whilst Freevee falls to the bottom of the pack, allowing Hulu to take 9th place.
*Roku, Google TV, Fire TV, Vizio TV, Cox Contour 2, PlayStation 4, Apple TV, LG TV, Samsung TV, Xbox One Console, Cox CSP and Xfinity
Peacock and Apple TV+’s ‘Yellowstone’ and ‘Ted Lasso’ shoot to the top of the leaderboard in 2nd and 3rd. Disney+’s ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ enters the leaderboard with an impressive MPV™ score of 1,112 to snap up 4th place, despite its release being later into the month.
Disney+ blows it out of the water
It’s been 13 years in the making and definitely well worth the wait. Disney+ puts on a well deserved show for the highly anticipated ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, shooting into 4th with an impressive MPV™ score of 1,112 in the US.
Despite the impressive whirlwind of eye-catching materials, users were likely left confused on which service was hosting the content, with Max unfortunately also sharing the promotion for the title as a result of a streaming deal that was made between themselves and 20th Century Fox (now called 20th Century Studios). An example of this is below in the top right-hand side, where both Max and Disney+ were promoting the title on the same page on PS4.

Two is always better than one
June saw Paramount+ and SHOWTIME bundle up in the US to give users an extensive streaming choice, offering up their best content to tempt users.
Each piece of promotional artwork featured an easily recognisable title from both Paramount+ and SHOWTIME, including ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’, ‘Billions’, ‘Dexter: New Blood’ and ‘1923’.

A killer combo
A promotional standout of the month goes to Freevee, who cleverly packaged and promoted well-known action catalogue titles in the best digital real estate.
With a strong Call to Action ‘Stream free’, this AVOD platform is stepping out of its comfort zone, following in its parent company’s (Prime Video) footsteps, who are known for their best in class, innovative promotions.
