Senior Product Manager

Salary: part time £2k/mth
Level: Senior
Location: Remote (GMT ± 2 hours)
Reports to: Client Services Director & to CEO

You’ll lead B2B product for Looper Insights. Organise a small team of developers and designers who move quickly, learning from customers and releasing features multiple times a week.

What is Looper?

Looper Insights is a remote-first startup, currently 12 people across 7 nationalities. We enable content owners to manage their products across online stores. For example, a Hollywood Movie Studio would use Looper to track and improve sales of their films; across stores like iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc.

In practical terms we build data-scraping and processing tools, and design interfaces that condense large volumes of information into actionable insights.

What you’ll do

You will be tasked with understanding our client needs, organising our company roadmap, and organising our developers and designers to ship excellent product features.

You will be involved with all areas of the business every day, including frequent checkins with the CEO, CTO, and Head of client services, amongst others. You will help everyone at Looper see a clear picture of what our clients need from us, and (with the help of the CTO and others) you’ll organise and direct a plan for delivery.

  • Interview and regularly deal with customers to understand their needs.
  • Communicate with company stakeholders to understand internal needs.
  • Help create, and maintain longer-term plans. E.g. future hires and product direction.
  • Maintain our short-term product plans, via Trello or other tools.
  • Share knowledge with the wider team, focussing on understanding our customers and their needs.
  • Organise our product team (developers, designers, etc), helping them understand requirements and release regular useful updates for our customers.
  • Work alongside senior management to keep design thinking and customer-focus at the heart of our business.

And as a VERY rough estimate of how important each area is, a typical week might be broken up like this:

  • 20% Researching customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • 20% Sharing requirements with the wider company.
  • 30% Longer term planning. Strategy. Resource planning.
  • 30% Short term planning and support. Sprint management.

Experience needed to do this job

You are joining as our most senior product manager, which requires high levels of organisation, communication, and user empathy.

  • Proven experience with enterprise product management. You’ve taken multiple projects from concept to production.
  • Experience managing a startup product team. You won’t be expected to line-manage engineers or designers, but you will be directing our day to day work. We move quickly, without a lot of the overheads you’ll find in larger companies.
  • Curiosity and empathy for our customers, with experience of turning that into a culture of product delivery.
  • Highly numerate and literate in English. We’re a remote team and communication is extremely important.
  • Proactive and organised. Looper is a startup, which means things change all the time. We need people who can be trusted to get on and make an impact.
  • Bonus: Film or TV industry would be helpful, but if you’re coming from another industry we’ll get you up to speed.
