Joanne Taylor has recently joined Looper Insights as our new Vice President of Marketing. In this quick interview we talk to her about her background, her future and what she’s binge-watching.
What’s your background?
I’ve been in the software industry for over 10 years, and have been putting my Marketing degree to good use for the past 7 years. I’ve worked in a variety of industries including localisation, construction and energy, but my whole career has centred around SaaS.
What will you be focusing on in your new role?
I’ll be handling all things marketing, helping the company to promote themselves across a variety of channels and platforms. I’ll be covering the likes of lead generation, branding, strategy, promotion, insights and events.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Whilst I’m from a SaaS/software background, I’m new to the Entertainment industry, so I’m really looking forward to learning about a new sector. The Connected Device space is relatively new to everyone, so it’s great to be at the forefront of something so innovative and interesting.
What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?
Marketing is more than just colouring in, believe it or not…!
If you could have a career in anything, what would it be?
I’d love to be a travel photographer, or a food critic, but I’m not particularly skilled at either! I try to combine the two though by recreating my favourite dishes from around the world.
What are you currently binge-watching?
I’ve gone back in time a bit and am about halfway through both Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill. I like easy going shows that I can watch whilst cooking. My guilty pleasure is also Below Deck – having binged all previous series, I’m struggling to wait a whole week for brand new episodes to come out!
What’s your favourite quote?
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them” – Walt Disney
Tell us something most people might not know about you?
I’ve run a 5km race whilst hula-hooping at the same time…I only dropped it once because another runner ran into my hula-hoop!
