Two-Thirds of Executives Expect Regulation of AI Content Discovery Within 12 Months

AI recommendation engines and voice assistants now have a bigger say in what viewers find on connected TV, and industry leaders expect regulators to follow. TheDesk.net covers Looper Insights’ new report, AI vs. Regulators: What Should Govern Content Discovery on Connected TV? In August, Looper surveyed 18 senior executives across streaming, broadcast, distribution and CTV device manufacturing.

The headline finding is that 67% of executives expect meaningful regulatory activity within the next 12 months. When it comes to what that regulation should look like, though, they back four different frameworks, from Algorithmic Visibility Obligations to AI Platform Designation.
