June Streaming: World Cup Dominates the Title Charts

The FIFA World Cup dominated CTV promotional visibility in June, and Looper Insights’ June Streamer of the Month data is getting wide coverage this month. Fox One’s World Cup coverage topped the title chart at $17 million in $MPV™ (Dollar Media Placement Value – Looper’s metric for the dollar value of CTV promotional placement), with Peacock’s coverage adding a further $6 million and bringing the tournament’s combined connected TV visibility to nearly $23 million.

Live sports more broadly shaped the month, accounting for half of the top 10 most-promoted titles, with MLB on Fubo, Formula 1 on Apple TV, and the WNBA on HBO Max all featuring. At the app level, Tubi and The Roku Channel held second and third position, continuing the sustained visibility of ad-supported streaming – a data point that also features in StreamTV Insider’s coverage of Fox Corp.’s proposed $22 billion acquisition of Roku.
